Abstract

A new lanthanum(III) complex was structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The central La atom achieves a coordination number of nine through bonding with eight oxygen atoms supplied by two bidentate acetylacetonate anions, two monodentate water molecules, and one bidentate nitrate anion, together with one nitrogen atom from a monodentate imidazole molecule, yielding a monocapped square antiprismatic geometry. Three distinct intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions were identified: nitrate–water O···H–O contacts along [001], acetylacetonate–water O···H–O contacts along [010], and imidazole–nitrate N–H···O contacts along [100], collectively forming a one-dimensional supramolecular network. The imidazole molecular plane is nearly parallel to the nitrate plane (dihedral angle 6.04°) and approximately perpendicular to the planes of the two adjacent acetylacetonate ligands.

Delivery context

The delivery route is not clearly identifiable from this paper. For hydrogen intake, inhalation is the most efficient route; inhalation, however, carries explosion risk (empirical LFL of 10%; high-concentration devices are not recommended).
